Harbormaster 2018 Capping
The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Committee Capped their Harbormaster 2018 Wednesday during the Noon Rotary meeting at the Winona American Legion.
As their last official duty as Harbormaster 2017 Steve and Mary Baumgart “capped” Vicki Decker. Vicki was nominated by her daughter Danielle. Danielle’s nomination included that “She(Vicki) gives 110% to everything she does.” Vicki is a true Winona Volunteer. She helped establish Women in Business, which has honored her with a Scholarship given in her name each year. She have been active in the YMCA and is currently on the committee to raise funds for the new building. She is on the Winona Health Board of Directors, helped with Trinona, Visit Winona, the History Center and volunteers at her church, Wesley United Methodist. As an active member of the Winona Noon Rotary is participates in the Reader program where Rotarians go into classrooms and red to children.
Vicki is retired from WSU where there is a scholarship in her name.
Danielle noted in her nomination “ This list could go on and on, these are just a few I could think of. I am very proud to be her daughter!”
You will see Vicki Decker at several events during Steamboat Days including the Kiddie Parade Friday, June 15th and on the Steamboat Days Float in the Grande Parade Sunday June 17th.
