***NOTE – many people email and message us over social media about being in the parade and believe it is a “first to come, first to get in” situation and it is not the case. We are a juried parade and look to select who we let for their entertainment and novelty value. We take it seriously that we are one of the top parades in the Midwest each year and can not allow every single organization into the parade because it would take way too long to complete the parade and it would become boring. Please understand just because you were in the parade in previous years does not qualify you for future years.
Also, understand that we get hundreds if not thousands of solicitations for the parade and many other things. So, if all we did is respond to every single solicitation then we would not get much else done. We love that people are interested in Steamboat Days, but please realize that we are all volunteers and have jobs.
The Steamboat Days Grande Parade is held each year on the closing day of our festival. Next year (2026) the parade will be on Sunday, June 21st at 12:01 pm. Our parade includes units with special entertainment value for the more than 20,000 spectators lining our 4 lanes, mile-long parade route. The parade is also televised and covered by local radio.
The parade begins on the corner of Mankato Avenue and Broadway (6th Street) and ends near the corner of Center Street and Broadway (6th Street).
Special features for 2026 include: TBA
