Steamboat Days 2016 Harbormaster Named at Chamber Network Night

The Steamboat Days Festival Committee Capped their Harbormasters for 2016 Thursday evening at the Winona Chamber Network Night hosted at Dahl Toyota.
As her last official act as Harbormaster 2015, Kathy Hovell “capped” Irene and Al Mulyck Harbormasters 2016. This is the second couple capped as Harbormasters for Steamboat Days. The
first couple was Candy and Steve Kohner in 2006.
The nomination was a long list of community organizations that Al and Irene have dedicated their time and talents to over the years. Irene was the Winona Daily News Volunteer of the Month in August 2015. In the article she said that volunteering started with the school PTA in 1972. Her volunteering has grown from there and with her always is her “Right Hand Man” husband Al who has a list all his own besides the volunteering they share.
Their combine list of Volunteering includes: St Mary’s Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Knights of Columbus, Habitat for Humanity, Winona Health Auxiliary, Holiday Happiness, Fantasy of Trees, Jewelry Sale, Winona History Center, American Legion, Winona Area Chamber of Commerce on several committees, including Chamber Ambassadors, Family Night on the Farm and Brat Booth, Miss Winona Pageant, Miss Winona Float, Visit Winona, Meals on Wheels, Trinona and many more.
Irene and Al are always eager to help wherever they are needed.
It is with great honor that the Winona Steamboat Days Festival Association and Past Harbormasters “cap” IRENE AND AL MULYCK as their 2016 Steamboat Days Harbormasters.
You will see Irene and Al at several events during Steamboat Days including on the Kiddie Parade Friday, June 17 and on the Steamboat Days Float in the Grande Parade Sunday, June 19. And as usual working at the Chamber Ambassador Brat Booth.
Watch for Steamboat Days buttons to go on sale in late May at area businesses and convenient stores for $5.00. Button sales help support events such as the Fireworks and Grande Parade!
