2019 Button Contest

The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Association is excited to invite Winona students to participate in the 2019 Steamboat Days button design contest! 

Steamboat Days is requesting submissions from individual middle school and high school students (grades 5 through 12).  Must attend or be homeschooled in District 861.

Steamboat Days will  award the  Winning Design, a ride in the Steamboat Days Grande Parade personalized button on to wear during steamboat days, t-shirt with the design on it, glasses, and carnival armbands for the family (maximum 5).  There will also be a Second place that will receive 4 carnival armbands; and  third place will receive 2 carnival armbands.

All entries must meet the criteria listed below, and must be submitted by Friday, December 7, 2018:

Button Design criteria:

Ø  Button design must be round.

Ø  Maximum 3 colors not including background

Ø  Date of the celebration must be on the button (June 12 –16, 2019)

Ø  “Winona Steamboat Days” and “72nd Annual” must be on the button

Ø  Button must contain at least one of the following: steamboat, carnival/Ferris wheel, fireworks, paddlewheel

Ø  Designs must be submitted on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of white paper with the design in color (template provided)

Ø  On the back of the template we ask that the student include: first and last name, school, grade, parent’s name, and home phone number.
