The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Association unveiled the 2017 Button Design and announced its designer at Winona Senior High School Wednesday afternoon. This year’s design winner is Jayla Millen, 9th-grade student at Winona Sr. High. This year the contest was open to only high school students grades 9 – 12.
As the Design Winner, Jayla received a plaque with her winning design, a ride in the Kiddie Parade and Steamboat Days Grande Parade, personalized button to wear during steamboat days, t-shirt with her design on it, 2 glasses with her design, and carnival armbands for her family.
Steamboat Days will also award prizes for Second Pace to Gracie Sholes, an 8th-grade student at Bluffview Montessori and Third Place to Micaiah Andrew Kesler, Senior at WSHS.
Steamboat Days buttons will be available for sale at most Winona convenience stores, retailers, restaurants, Midtown Foods and HyVee by May 19th. With your advance button purchase of $5.00, you can register to win many great prizes donated by a variety of area merchants including a new picnic table from Anova.
