2013 Sports Grand Marshal Announced
The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Committee is pleased to announce Patrick Bowlin as Sports Grand Marshal for the 2013 Steamboat Days Grande Parade.
Pat Bowlin is currently the Principal of the Winona Area Catholic Schools. Prior to that he served for 20 years as the Activities Director at Cotter High School.
Bowlin currently is the head girls basketball and softball coach at Cotter. He also served 12 years as the schools head football coach. He is very active in our community and was a leader in forming leagues for area youth in tackle football, summer league basketball, and Winstars fastpitch softball.
Bowlin is very honored that during his career he has been inducted into four Hall of Fame’s. These honors include as a player at St. Paul Harding High School, as a coach at St. Bernard’s and Cotter High School and a member of the Minnesota Girls Basketball Hall of Fame.
His teams at Cotter have won 19 conference championships, 14 section championships, and 2 state titles. Bowlin most prizes his relationships with his players and seeing them become successful adults.
Bowlin notes that his father, Pat, and his Catholic faith are his inspirations in coaching.
You can see Pat in the Steamboat Days Grande Parade this Sunday, June 23rd. The parade starts at 12:31pm. Parade route is West on Broadway from St. Charles Street to Center.
